Buckles and Buttons

Buckles and Buttons

I’m still working on the double-breasted blouse (Burda 02/2007), it’s mostly done, but I’m a bit stalled. I suck at buttons. Any place I can use a snap instead of a button, I do. I did the buttons holes at sewing class on a Bernina 220. Unfortuneately there wasn’t gimp (you know a buttonhole gimp, that long plastic foot where you stick the button in the back and it produces a perfectly sized buttonhole) anywhere to be found. Buttonholes are pretty terrifying for me using a gimp, and without one, my heart was racing for 3 hours. After many, many practice holes, I finally felt ready to do the real thing. And these buttons holes are very pretty, way better than the EuroPro I use at home can do. Does anyone else have crazy fear/hatred of buttons?

I was surprised to see the gel pen markings on the pictures because I don't see them in real life.

I’m also choosing between buckles. I haven’t found one the size the pattern calls for; I think I’m going to the smaller black one.

Same shirt, same lighting, same time of day yet 3 different colours.

I even think I will finish this before the end of February. Thanks for stopping by.
