Burdastyle February Plans

Burdastyle February Plans

I have one February project well on the way. When I picked my January projects I struggled to choose because nothing quite felt right, but with February I struggled because I wanted to make everything. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to make the double-breasted blouse (Burda 02/2007). I have considered making this at least a hundred times, and while it’s not really the type of thing I wear (since it’s not a T-shirt), I can sort of see myself wearing it.

The pattern recommends fabric with for some “body”, and so I’ve picked some fabric with some body. What does that mean exactly? I think it has body anyway.

It’s a subtly striped teal cotton shirting. If the shirt is nice, I’ll make some matching shorts. Although this pattern is cut on the cross grain, so the shirt would have vertical stripes and the shorts horizontal. Might be too much, eh?

I’m undecided on a second project, I may just stick with the one. My March Burdastyle came in the mail today, perhaps I could get a jump on things. I’ve also pledged to do the Burda Challenge 2015, which only calls for one project per month. I could succeed there even if I fail here. If I decide to go for double success these are some projects I’m considering.
I love this shirt, but I'm pretty sure it will be unflattering on me.

If only this were a jersey dress.

I love, love, love jumpsuits...hanging in my closet anyway.

This is the most likely candidate.

Thanks for stopping by.
